From the age of six, she dreaded her bedroom. She heard voices in the vents, felt as though a man were standing in her closet and regularly woke from nightmares unable to move. After one particularly frightening night, she grabbed her blanket and prepared to make her usual run to her parents’ room.
Then she looked behind her. A tall black figure was watching her. She blinked, squinted and tried to convince herself that her tired eyes were playing tricks on her. The figure remained.
Years later, her brother admitted that something had followed him through the house—and even appeared at his school. When she asked him to describe it, his answer matched what she had seen exactly.
The same faceless man.
Their mother would eventually see him too. But he didn’t simply stand and watch her.
