During a ghost tour inside a historic California hotel, the group sat together in the dark while a spirit box swept through static and fragments of sound.
Then something came through that seemed unusually direct.
After one voice apparently used profanity, the tour guide jokingly reminded whoever was there that women were present. Moments later, a clear female voice seemed to answer him back.
And that wasn’t the only strange response. Later, someone listening through headphones began hearing whistling—before being told that the hotel had a spirit known for doing exactly that.
