It began with three slow knocks from inside the wall behind Ava’s bed. Then her phone moved across the desk, books flew from a shelf, doors slammed on their own, and eventually her parents watched her mattress begin to shake beneath her.
The activity seemed to follow Ava wherever she went in the house, but there was another pattern her parents were slower to recognize. The worse Ava felt, the stronger it became.
What they didn’t know was that their daughter had been hiding something from them for months.
As the disturbances grew more violent, the family was forced to consider a possibility that was almost as frightening as a ghost: maybe the haunting wasn’t centered on the house at all.
