She still isn’t convinced her apartment is haunted. But after four years of footsteps in an empty hallway, unexplained noises, and a bedroom door that sometimes seemed to move on its own, she’s equally unconvinced that everything has a normal explanation.
Most of it was easy enough to tolerate. What she couldn’t tolerate was being repeatedly awakened in the middle of the night when she had to work the next morning.
Finally, exhausted and irritated, she sat up in bed and spoke directly to whoever—or whatever—might be responsible.
She wasn’t asking it to leave. She just wanted to establish a few boundaries.
