Living near Pennhurst means the stories are never very far away.
She had been on the grounds herself, walked through one of the old buildings, and heard plenty of accounts from people who had explored the property long before security tightened up. Most of what she experienced was interesting rather than frightening. Then one visit left her with a photograph she still can’t explain.
And sometime later, while out on a trail near the property, she came across something else—an old object sitting by itself that immediately caught her attention.
Her first thought was to take it home. Her second thought was much harder to ignore.
When you live that close to a place with Pennhurst’s reputation, how certain do you really want to be about where an object came from?
