After an old family farmhouse was sold and torn down, a new home was built in its place. One day, the little boy who lived there rode his bicycle up the lane and stopped to tell the neighbor that an old man in his bedroom had given him a message.
The boy knew the man’s name. He described his suspenders and the old-fashioned clothes he always wore. Then he mentioned the strange hat—with a golf ball attached to the side.
