She was only four or five when she woke in the middle of the night to the sound of someone moving through the house.
Then she heard her sister calling her name. At first, there was nothing especially frightening about it. Her sister simply wanted her to come play. But the longer the voice continued, the more something seemed wrong.
Then it asked if it could come into her room. She said yes. That was when the voice began to change.
And as footsteps started moving down the hallway toward her bedroom, she realized whatever was coming toward her wasn’t her sister at all.
